Sen.  John Paul Capps, D-Searcy, 74, is recovering from injuries he suffered in a fall and is expected to be at the state Capitol Monday, state senators were told today.

Sen. Paul Miller, D-Melbourne, said Capps broke bones on the right side of his face between his eyebrow and cheek and severely sprained his ankle in the fall.

Capps was visiting his daughter in Nashville, Tenn. this past weekend when he fell while walking outside her home, Miller, D-Melbourne, said, adding that Capps does not know what caused the fall.

“He said, ‘I look awful, my face is purple,’” Miller said recalling a phone call he had with Capps.
