Arkansas has become the first state to launch a free iPhone application that allows users to track the spending of its share of the federal stimulus.

Users can search for information on spending projects by location, keyword or categories such as “conservation” and “highways.” The application provides information such as project details, the amount appropriated for a project and when a project is scheduled to start and end.

The application can be found by searching on iTunes for Arkansas.gov Recovery Projects Search. A link is also available on a state Web site that tracks stimulus spending.
