Arey is Devine’s game show ‘lifeline’
Former Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality Director Marcus Devine recently appeared on the TV game show “Who Wants to be a Millionaire?” and won some money.
How much will not be revealed until the syndicated show airs sometime in December.
Meantime, word comes that Frank Arey, legal counsel for the Bureau of Legislative Audit, was Devine’s lifeline on the show and helped him correctly answer a $25,000 question.
Arey gave an account of the episode to lawmakers during a meeting at the state Capitol today.
The question: Which Middle Eastern country in 2005 elected its first non-Arab president. The answer: Iraq.
Arey, who says he doesn’t watch the show, said a woman named Meredith called him and informed him that Devine was needing help.
Meredith Vieira is host of the game show and also is a host of NBC’s Today Show.
