Lottery officials say a ceremonial sale of the state’s first lottery ticket is planned for 12:01 a.m. Monday, the time when retailers across the state are allowed to begin selling scratch-off tickets.

The ceremony will be at the Murphy USA gas station at the intersection of Chenal Parkway and Arkansas 10 in west Little Rock. Guests and other observers will gather at 11:30 p.m.

Powerball tickets are scheduled to go on sale Oct. 31.
