A Republican governor who did not make the GOP presidential ticket last year will speak at the state party’s major fundraiser next month.

Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty will be the keynote speaker for Arkansas GOP’s annual Governor’s Dinner on June 26 in Little Rock.

Last year, Pawlenty was mentioned as a possible running mate for Arizona Sen. John McCain before the GOP presidential nominee added Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin to the ticket that lost to Democrats Barack Obama and Joe Biden.
