Until further notice …
A newly signed law changes the requirement in Arkansas for vaccinating dogs and cats for rabies from every year to every three years — but not right away.
The state Health Department points out today specific language in Act 159 that requires “all dogs and cats shall be vaccinated against rabies annually or as required by the state Board of Health.”
The department emphasizes that, procedurally, it will take some time for the board to change the rules and regulations governing rabies vaccinations. So until the changes are finalized, the requirement remains for dogs and cats to be vaccinated for rabies every year.
