Shale rewards
Southwestern Energy Co. announced plans today to build a $25 million regional headquarters in Conway to support its operations in the Fayetteville Shale play.
The 100,000 square-foot structure will be located on 11.5 acres at The Village at Hendrix, a neighborhood development affiliated with Hendrix College.
Southwestern CEO Harold Korell says the company hopes to break ground in April and hopes to complete construction by mid-2010.
Korell says the new facility will initially employ 220 workers and eventually will house 400-450 employees.
